Mara and her new dad.Now for the story. Saturday night Christen and I decided to go for a walk. A long labor inducing walk, we did about 3 miles. It worked. At about 11 o'clock on Saturday night Christen began feeling the contractions. We waited for a couple of hours to make sure that everything was real and we headed to the hospital at 1 on Sunday morning. After being checked and hooked up to the machines, the contractions continued but labor didn't progress so Christen was given a shot of morphine in her hip and we headed home.
The pain of the contractions, although momentarily dulled, came back with a vengeance and we decided that it was time to head back to the hospital for another try. Christen was admitted at 4 o'clock, and enjoyed the beauty of the epidural. After a few more hours of labor the pushing began, and at 10:20 a bit more than 23 hours after we started, our little Mara came into the world.

Christen and Ian, She is absolutely lovely. What a ton of hair with that beautiful kissing smile. How blessed you are. Start watching out for the boys :) Love you ALL!!!
Sis, thanks for giving me such a beautiful niece. She makes me want to reach right through the internet and hold her. I wish they had e-cuddles. Congratulations, and we're so excited for you!
I love her bow, I love her cheeks, I love her little red foot sticking out of her blanket! I love her! I was showing these photos to my friends at work and they all smiled and did head tilts in adoration. I enjoyed showing off my newest family member so much!

ooooh yay...she's got hair like her cousin Sophie! woohoo! I'm sooooooooooooooo glad Sophie will have a family friend to play with (seeing as how none of our immediate family members want to get on the ball and help us out here). We're so happy for you guys and know that Mara is the luckiest little angel to have you two for parents!

My dahlings, she is completely scrumptious. I love you, sweeties.
She is adorable! Love her name..my little sister is Mara and Jane is an AWESOME middle name... She has loads of hair, wish we coud get some of that in our family.
